The Challenge

Due to the pandemic, people everywhere were working from home, which, for most, meant sitting in front of their computer enduring video conference call after video conference call.

The idea of enjoying a tasty IPA during those end-of-day calls seemed like the perfect antidote, however, sipping on a cold one could be seen as “unprofessional” by certain colleagues (we’re looking at you, Gordon).

We needed to help all those hard-working folks celebrate their last meeting of the day with a frosty tallboy, without anyone on screen noticing.

The Solution

To solve this dilemma, we came up with the idea of a green-screen beer and we knew the perfect brewery to help us bring it to life. With R&B Brewing’s help, Green Screen IPA was born. Now you can attend your virtual meeting with your invisible beer in hand.

We recorded a video showcasing the stealthy beer in action and promoted the clip via social media. R&B also offered some how-to tips for harnessing the magic of Green Screen IPA on their website.

The Results

The beer’s release was covered by CTV News and trended as the most viewed article on Vancouver Is Awesome. Green Screen IPA was a major success, with the product selling out within a week of its launch.
